It’s that time of year my friends! Time for our annual Christmas family movie night! I mentioned last week that our movie this year is How the Grinch Stole Christmas. We had hoped to squeeze our fun night in while my husband had his daughter for Thanksgiving, but we cleaned, cooked, decorated for Christmas, and I spent quite a bit of time creating the printables for the night, so we had to push it back. However, I wanted you to be able to have your night as soon as possible, so I’m sharing the Grinch movie night or party printables for free with you today.
Last year’s movie night was Elf. If you’d like to get those free printables you can check out that post here. Our Elf movie night fun and games are in this post. You can get photobooth printables for that movie here.
Supplies for Grinch Free Printables:
- white cardstock- You can use regular paper, but cardstock looks better on the decor, stands up easier for the tent cards, and works way, way better for the photobooth props.
- printer or photo printing store like Office Depot or Office Max
- craft sticks for photobooth props
- hot glue gun for photobooth props
- 3 or 4 picture frames for the decor- Any size will work as these designs are PNGs, so they will print with the same resolution no matter the size.
For personal use only. Feel free to download these free designs and print them or use on your Cricut projects for your own use at home. They are not for commercial use, not to be placed on items for sale. That helps me keep these printables, SVGs, and PNGs coming to you for free! Another note: you will not my logo overlay on your downloaded design. It is there to keep people from downloading the images straight from Google, or others from stealing them to use on their site. Thanks for understanding! Feel free to share this post for your friends and family to make their own projects with this design!
Grinch Movie Night Invitation
My Grinch movie night printable invitation can be used for a family movie night as well as a Christmas party. Our kiddos love to see the invitation out a few days before our celebration. I usually print it as a 4×6 then frame it and place it where I will eventually set up our snack bar.
You can fill in the date and time at the bottom of the invitation and then place your address or “such and such residence” after “at” in the third column. If you’d like me to fill in your date, time, and last name, leave me a comment or use the message option on my contact page. A direct message on my social media will work too. I will try my hardest to do that for you if I get a chance.
This is what our Grinch movie night invitation looks like. You can see how I added the day under “December,” placed 7pm in the center section, and “the Kline residence” next to “at.”
This is the blank printable Grinch invitation. Again, reach out to me if you’d like me to customize it for you. Yes, for free because I love y’all! I will do my best to do it for you in a timely manner if I don’t get thousands and thousands of requests (like happened on my free printable designs that I used on my magazine rack upcycle). Remember my logo will not be on the downloaded designs.
Grinch Decor Printables
I created three pages of free printable Grinch designs that you can use to decorate your house. Print, pop them into frames, and you have some decorations specific for watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Add some of your favorite decorations to the spot and you have a special night that the kids look forward to year after year.
This sign can be used to decorate the hot chocolate bar for your Grinch movie night or party. Creating a cute little chocolate bar is both functional and serves as a cute decorative area. Crush up peppermints, chocolate, and Reese’s and place them in separate bowls so that your party guests can sprinkle them on top of their cup of hot cocoa. Place candy canes in their own container to use as another garnish. Other great items to have available are sprinkles, cinnamon, marshmallows, and marshmallow cream.
My son is allergic to milk proteins, so I use vanilla soy milk to make our hot chocolate. If you have lactose intolerant guests or those with milk allergies, I highly recommend it. I actually prefer it to milk as it adds just a hint of vanilla. If you don’t like vanilla, you can use the regular soy milk. This crockpot hot chocolate recipe looks delicious. We might try it for our Grinch movie night, of course substituting soy milk for regular.
Printable Photobooth Props
What movie night or Christmas party would be complete without a photobooth? Our family has a good time with ours for Halloween and Christmas. (If you’ve missed our Halloween movie night free printables, you can see the Beetlejuice printables here and the Hocus Pocus printables here. Be sure to pin them for next year!) To see how I set up my photobooths, you can check out this post.
Download and print each page on white cardstock. Check the print settings to be sure that nothing will be cut off.
You can use the print then cut image on your cutting machine, or you can cut each item out by hand. There are two options for cutting out the reindeer antlers and ears. You can cut them individually and add craft sticks to each one or cut them with a band of paper connecting them like the headbands. Use hot glue to attach a craft stick or thin skewer or dowel to the item. Glue the stick to the sides of the headbands and to the middle of the other designs. I will update this post with photos of our booth after December 10.
Free Printable Grinch Movie Night/Party Food & Drink Tent Cards
I created four different sets of food and drink tent cards that you can choose from. We all know that the Whoville residents serve roast beef (which the Grinch carves!) and Who Hash for their Christmas dinner. If you’d like to serve a dinner for your Grinch movie night or party, you can download these food and drink tent cards.
Next up I created a set of tent cards for the traditional Dr. Seuss meal- green eggs and ham!
You can print as many of these blank tent cards as you need for your drinks, snacks, and entrees. You can make up cute names for the items or just write what you’re serving on them.
Grinch Movie Night Printable Activities
I have several games that our kids have decided that they wanted to play for our Grinch movie night. You’ll have to stay tuned to find out what those are, but until then, I have these free printables that you can use to have a little fun on your own night.
This page has Christmas themed words that you can cut apart for holiday charades. On the blank squares, write your own words. Fold the squares and place them in a bowl and have each person draw one and act out the word on the page. Your family can play on teams if you have very little children. Whoever guesses the word gets a point. At the end the person with the most points wins! If you want you can have a prize, play for the right to be the first player in the next game, or just play for bragging rights.
At the bottom of the page there is a Grinch trivia game. Again, you can play for bragging rights or a prize.
I made adorable little prize ribbons with these printables. You can count up the points for all of the games that you play on your Grinch movie night and give the Cheermeister ribbon to the person with the most at the end of the night. The Grinch ribbon can go to that special person who’s always the “cheeriest” for Christmas or parties or for the winner of the Grinch trivia contest.
I cut two pieces of 2.5″ coordinating ribbon and placed them on the back of the circles. Then I hot glued a large safety pin to the center to make adorable award ribbons.
I hope that you have a fun & memorable Grinch movie night with these free printables!
