Welcome friends! Today on my Wednesday Facebook video, the girls and I recreated a floral door basket Pinterest pin. The original pin used all white flowers, but I had some very pretty metallic flowers from Hobby Lobby that I also wanted to use. My solution? I put my DIY floral door basket together in two different ways! Let me show you how.

Floral Door Basket Supplies:
- grapevine door basket
- florals: I used magnolia stems, wisteria bushes, and cherry blossom stems.
- scissors
- hot glue gun & glue
- 2.5″ wired ribbon
- floral wire or pipe cleaner

Place Florals in the Door Basket
This is the original picture of the floral door basket that the girls and I were recreating in our DIY posts and videos. You can check out the full video tutorial over on my Facebook page, and the other girls’ videos are shared there as well. That way you can see several other floral door baskets to get an idea of different ways to style your own DIY basket!

Since the original basket contained white flowers, I did stick with flowers that were majority white. I started with my cherry blossom stems because they are taller. They are white with some very light pink in them which brought out the pink streaks in the middle of the magnolia stems. I placed three stems across the back of the door basket, one to the left, one to the right, and one in the center.

Next, I added two wisteria bushes, one to each side of the door basket.

Finally, I placed the two magnolia stems in my DIY floral door basket.

Embellish the Door Basket
The original pin had a raffia bow on the front. I decided to go a different route with my DIY floral door basket and add a strip of 2.5″ tan linen ribbon to the front along with a bow.
I cut a length of ribbon to fit across the front, then taped the ends to the back about 2.5″ from the top of the door basket. Instead of hot glue, I used washi tape so that it would be easy to remove since I’m creating two baskets and using a different colored ribbon for that one.

Next, I made a simple 4 loop bow and hot glued it to the strip of ribbon on the front of the door basket.

If you need an easy bow tutorial, you can I made the same one I did for this DIY floral door basket in my chunky yarn heart wreath tutorial. There is a Facebook video of the tutorial process where you can watch me make the bow. If you’re looking for a bigger, loopy bow, you can check out this easy wreath bow and this super easy loopy bow tutorial.
Time to hang my DIY floral door basket!

I really like the way the white and light pink version of this floral door basket turned out! It’s not exactly like the pin, I made it my own, and you can do the same when recreating your own DIY decor.

I lost the light for today to take pictures of my second DIY floral door basket, so I will add that to the post on Saturday when I get some good photos. It has some really pretty metallic colors that I think are really going to pop against the front door, so be sure to come back on Saturday to check that out!
