Welcome to Traffic Jam Weekend! Can you believe it’s already the weekend? Maybe I’m the only one because I work every single day, so the work/school week flies by. I’m glad you’ve either found me or that you are back! Before we get to today’s link party and the features, I’d like to share what’s been going on over here at Life as a LEO Wife this week.
I made two fall decor pieces that I really love. If you’ve been around for a while, you know that I have an early fall theme and a late fall theme for my home. My early fall colors are aqua, orange, and white, and I’ve made several new pieces for it over the past few months. Make sure you go and check those out! Now I’ve started working on my late fall decor. The first piece is a pumpkin sign, actually I made two of them, one in aqua and the other in copper. They will sit in vignettes in my dining room. You will see the second pumpkin, done in burgundy, navy, and copper, in the post.
The second sign I made is a 2′ long HOME sign that can be hung or placed on the ground, either sitting on the porch or indoors. I really love that sign. I used a pumpkin for the O, which is painted in copper. The colors are great together!
Finally, with Halloween coming up soon, I decided to make one more piece for it. I have seen so many splatter screen pumpkins on Pinterest, but not too many for Halloween. I’ve had three splatter screens for over a year, so I thought why not make one? I used all Dollar Tree items for this, even the fabric! Check out the tutorial here.
On to the Party!

These are the featured posts from Traffic Jam Weekend #294…
Niki chose 5 Fun Halloween Decorations on a Budget from A Life of Balance. “If you’ve been with me for any length of time, you know that I love DIY home and seasonal decor! Law enforcement officers (LEOs) don’t make a ton, so I’ve always felt like I could make my own decor for a lot cheaper than I could go out and buy it! These 5 DIY Halloween decorations are perfect if you like adding new pieces to your collection every year without busting your budget.”
Kimberly also chose this post. “These inexpensive decorations are right in line with crafts that even I can manage to create.”
Tracy chose Burlap Witch Hat Wreath from our very own Life as a LEO Wife. “This is a nice take on a Halloween decoration. I love the simplicity of this. Looking forward to trying it.”
Michelle chose Color Block Crochet Placemats from Keeping it Real . “These crocheted placemats are so cool, I purchased the pattern myself.”
The post with the most views was Growing Beyond Your Pen for Business Growth from our very own Being A Wordsmith.
