Crafty Creators Link Party #28

Welcome to Crafty Creators Link Party, where you can share all of your wonderful crafts, DIYs, fashion, recipes, or any other thing that makes your heart happy! After you link up, I’d love it if you’d spread the word about the party! Remember, you must be following me on social media in order to be featured on next week’s party. Allyson from Southern Sunflowers is our co-hostess and is choosing features this week, so make sure you go and say hello to her!

Don’t forget to link up on Happiness is Homemade, and let’s get to the posts that I shared over the last week.

Last Thursday I joined up with some lovely ladies for our monthly Creative Craft Hop. I shared a Pottery Barn framed mirror set dupe that I absolutely love. It was worth every single hour I put into it! The set was $180 from Pottery Barn and a similar set at Wayfair was going for $289.99. No, just no. I thought what we creators always think, “I could make that for so much less!” I used Dollar Tree mirrors and a few supplies from Michael’s and made my set for under $15! Head over and pin that post because it’s one you’ll definitely want to create. The best part is you can tweak it to fit your home!

It’s time to get those school supplies and back to school clothes bought. This summer flew by for us. I always like to send a little gift for my son’s teachers at the beginning of the year and throughout the year. A few years ago I found out that Bath & Body Works sell fall soaps that have adorable kiddie designs on the at the end of July and August. They’ve figured us out moms. They know we can’t resist getting cute little happies for our kiddos’ teachers. I made 5 gift tags that you can choose from to attach to an affordable back to school gift. Times are tough, so a $3-4 bottle of soap (or less if you skip B&BW) is a perfect gift, plus they always need it for all the little grimy hands in class!

If you’ve been around for a while you probably know I’ve made plenty of fabric craft and decor projects. All of them have been made with glue and liquid stitch- until now! I finally bought a sewing machine. All over the internet are tutorials for easy sewing projects, but I found none made by a first time sewer. Well now there is. I made a drawstring bag for small items, but mine is made specifically for my menstrual discs. (By the way if you haven’t tried them, you must! You’ll make the switch permanent right away!) Hopefully this tutorial will help other newbies since it’s written in clearly non-technical terms, lol, and I added some answers to questions I had that other first time sewers had. If you’re already a seamstress, you could knock this out in minutes I’m sure!

I have some more another back to school teacher gift coming later today and the free gift tag for it will be released on Saturday, along with other home decor tutorials, so make sure you follow me on social media using the buttons in the sidebar. That way you don’t miss them! Enter your email address below to get an email when I add a new post, including new link parties, so you never forget to join us!

This Week’s Features!

Denise, from My Home of All Seasons, is giving us a summer tour of her cozy patio. It’s an intimate area where she hosts both family and friends. Everyone gets to listen to the relaxing and peaceful sounds coming from her water features. Drop by her blog to see how she has decorated her oasis!

Beth, from Creatively Beth, has created a very unique back to school frame using vintage inspired rulers. The frame is one of her featured 15 minute crafts. I think inserting the dictionary page instead of a photo was a brilliant idea!

Niky, from The House on Silverado, is sharing her old-fashioned pound cake recipe that was inspired by Martha Washington’s 250 year old recipe. It’s dense and rich and would be perfect paired with a cup of coffee or hot tea.

Debbie, from Debbie Dabble, is showing off her curio cabinet that’s filled with pretty antiques and collectibles. Some are sentimental family antiques while others she found at estate sales or while thrifting. Visit her blog to see all her wonderful treasures!

Jennifer, from Studio 27, has given her dining room a lovely makeover and shares with us the changes she made. The focal point is her fireplace which she gave a fresh update with paint. I really like her thrifted cabinet that was given a paint makeover, also. It’s perfect for displaying collectibles.
