Happiness is Homemade Link Party #438

Welcome to Happiness is Homemade! For the month of July, Sinea from Ducks ‘n a Row will be choosing our features, but before we get there, let’s check out what’s been going on here on the blog over the past few days. Be sure to head over and link up on Crafty Creators before you go!

I’ve been busy learning how to sew on my new sewing machine. If you’ve been waiting to dive into sewing because it seems overwhelming, check out my drawstring bag tutorial that is a true first time sewing project by a first time sewer! Hopefully this will be an easy way to get you started on your new hobby due to my very non-technical verbiage and explanation of the very smallest of things. I used my bag to store feminine products like menstrual discs (if you haven’t yet switched to them, you must at least try them as they’re amazing!), but they can be used for anything.

Fall is on the way and that means back to school time is here! I made many chapstick holders over the past week, and they’re a super easy project for new sewers. You can use them as back to school teachers’ gifts, clip them on your child’s backpack, or put them on your own purse instead of digging through the bottomless pit of your purse searching for the latest tube of lip balm! I have some amazing free printable back to school teacher’s gift tags that are so unique, so you don’t want to miss them!!
