I’m glad you are here to see this week’s features and share your wonderful posts on You’re the Star Blog Hop. Before we get to the hop, I’d like to share what’s been going on here on the blog over the past week.
This week I’ve focused on how to create signs and wall art for your home on a budget. The stretched canvases that you buy cheaply at hobby stores or even at dollar stores actually have a wood frame under the canvas fabric. In this tutorial I show you how to reverse the canvas and have beautiful framed art or signs without any extra expense! When you make a lot of signs like I do, using vinyl for each different color can get expensive. A budget-friendly way to make them is to cut a vinyl stencil and paint them on the canvas. In this tutorial I show you how to cut the vinyl and paint the stencil on without any paint bleeding underneath!
In both of those tutorials I used a SVG cut file that I created for Halloween. I saw the phrase “hocus pocus I need coffee to focus” on Pinterest, and I knew I wanted that to be put on a sign on our coffee bar. I just love you guys for all of the love and support you throw my way, so I created a free printable for you to use as well! You can print it out for a quick and easy Halloween decoration or you can download the SVG version to make a sign or to put on a coffee mug. The sign is available in an 8×10 or a 5×7.
