Welcome friends! Today we’re continuing our Decorate with Me Fall Series. Terrie over at Decorate and More with Tip and Tammy of Patina and Paint, and I are sharing ideas and how we decorated our mantle for fall. Let’s get into it!
Mantles are the focal point of a room, so it’s important that they look the best that they can. Many of us long to have a fireplace and mantle, but we don’t have one in our home. What are we to do, especially when they look so amazing decorated for seasons and holidays? Well, create your own “mantle!”
You can do that by hanging a shelf or using a table like I do. Last year we hung our 70″ TV on the wall and bought a sofa table of the same size to hang underneath it. You can see the tutorial for how we did that and how to hide all of those ugly cables in this post. It’s so easy, takes less than 2 hours, and you don’t need a special tool! It’s a must do for the best look. I was so excited to have this done because it allowed me to decorate my sofa table like a mantle!
Let me show you how I decorated my fall “mantle” this year!
Fall “Mantle” Decorating
On the left side of my mantle I left my glass jug vase with wood beads around it and placed a steel blue and a light rust pumpkin stem in it. Then I placed a blue pumpkin in front of it and a picture frame with a fall picture of my son inside next to it.
On the left side of my faux mantle I left my normal white farmhouse candlesticks and placed some styrofoam pumpkins in front of it. Next to that I placed a mustard colored velvet pumpkin.
Finally, in the center on top of the mantle I added a copper fall sign from Hobby Lobby.
Lower Shelf
With the top of my fall faux mantle complete, it was time to start on the bottom. For some reason that’s always difficult for me! Who knows why?!
I left a basket full of blankets and draped a tan blanket over the edge, then filled it with fabric and a DIY pumpkin that I made a few years ago. I wish I could push the basket further to left edge, but I can’t because it needs to hide the round mount where the TV cords come out. We had a smaller table when we mounted the TV, so it was right on the left edge then. There are a few pumpkins behind the orange one that you can’t see in this photo, but you can from other angles. Then on the right I left the two blue vases but filled the bowl with white pumpkins. In front of that I placed a copper and bronze pumpkin. To the left of the basket, I placed a matching candlestick in a lamb’s ear and pumpkin wreath with a fabric pumpkin in front.

Thank you! I’m so honored! I told Maria in a comment above that I feel like I should change it up after decorating the other areas. I’ve been feeling like it’s subpar. Thank you so much for the pick me up and making me feel like it looks good again! Maybe I’m feeling more like it’s the first video I did with me actually in it and talking that’s making me feel that way lol. The other 4 videos I feel like I did a little better in (though I still feel weird lol), and hopefully they’ll keep getting better & better.

Niky, I used to use our sofa table the same way, even hung Christmas stockings off it before we had a house with a fireplace. Love your fall look and the new bronze fall sign is fun!
