I’ve got a GORGEOUS wreath tutorial to share with y’all today! Let me show you how to make an elegant bunny wreath using a Dollar Tree wreath form and about $7 in supplies. Can you believe this beauty cost me that little?! Let’s get started!

Bunny Wreath Supplies:

  • bunny wreath form- Dollar Tree
  • lamb’s ear stems- $2 from Walmart
  • other greenery from Hobby Lobby because I had it on hand- You can just use the 2 lamb’s ear stems that come together from Walmart.
  • hot glue gun & glue
Supplies for bunny wreath: Dollar Tree bunny wreath frame, macrame cord, and a hot glue gun.
Ignore the baker’s twine & ribbon. I planned to use them, but I ended up using greenery & flowers instead.

Wrap Body of Bunny

First hot glue the macrame cord onto the back of the round body section of the bunny wreath.

Wrap the cord or white cotton rope around the wreath, passing it through the middle, then around the wire portion.

Continue wrapping the round section of the bunny wreath until it is completely covered. Hot glue the end to the back of the wreath, then cut off the excess.

This is what your wreath will look like now.

Braid Macrame Cord for the Bunny Ears

Cut 6 lengths of macrame cord that are about 8-10″ longer than the ear on the bunny wreath. Line the ends up and tape them to a table to make it easier to work with.

Taping 6 pieces of macrame cord onto the table.

Begin braiding the cords, two at a time. Meaning take the two on the right and pass them over the center, two on the left and pass them over the center, then back to passing the two on the right over the center. Continue braiding all the way down.

When you get to the end, add hot glue to the cords and press them together to hold the braid. Do this for the top and bottom of the braid. Cut off any excess rope to make it even.

Make a second braid for the other bunny ear on the wreath.

Cover the Bunny Ears with the Braids.

Next, add hot glue to the end of one of the braids, and press it on the back of the wreath, right below the bunny ear wire.

Add hot glue along the wire ear and press the braid onto it until the entire ear is covered.

Press the end of the braid on the back of the wreath as you did at the beginning and cut off any excess braid.

Embellish the Bunny Wreath

There are many ways to embellish the wreath. You could add buttons, rope, or any number of different bows. I chose to add greenery and a large flower to my bunny wreath to create a classy look.

Use two lamb’s ear stems with a similar number of leaves on them for each side of the wreath. Weave the end of a stem through the macrame cord and onto the back of the wreath. I don’t cut my stems so that I can use them for other projects later. Simply pull off leaves you don’t want and save them.

I also cut 2 small pieces of greenery from Hobby Lobby, one for each side of the bunny wreath. I didn’t use much of the bunch, so I can still use it later. Then I wove it into the cording.

Repeat on both sides, leaving a space for a flower.

Finally, weave a large flower into your bunny wreath, right in the center.

Fluff your flower and greenery, and your finished with your elegant bunny wreath!

Isn’t this gorgeous?!
