Let the Delivery Drivers Know You’re Thankful w/ This Free Printable & a Cute Snack Basket!

It’s that time of year again. Time when delivery drivers are working 12 to 14 hour days delivering gifts from door to door. I wanted to thank the men and women who keep me from having to get all dolled up to go out shopping, so I created a printable thank you note to let them know they’re appreciated and free to grab a snack and drink from the basket on my porch. In this post I’ll share that free Christmas delivery driver snack printable with you and show you how to turn a simple basket into a holiday themed snack container.

Today is our December Sustainable Pinterest Challenge hosted by Julie of Sum of Their Stories. This is a challenge where I join up with some talented bloggers to bring you a project that has been inspired by a Pinterest pin or two. We throw in a twist and make our projects with a sustainable element. Our theme for this month is winter. My Christmas delivery driver snack and thank you printable was inspired by the pin below from my friend Niky over at The House on Silverado. What is my sustainable element you ask? Well, I’m sustaining all of those wonderful delivery drivers with a few snacks and drinks. Gotta keep their blood sugar level up while they deliver thousands of packages a day!

Download Christmas Delivery Driver Thank You Printable

This delivery driver thank you printable can be printed in any size without losing quality. I printed mine as an 8×10, but feel free to use a 5×7 or 4×6. You want the size to coordinate with the size of your basket. Remember that my logo will not appear on the downloaded version of the snack printable.

Check your print settings before your print so that you don’t waste ink. Set the photo size to 8×10 or whatever frame size you’re using. If needed, use the shrink to fit option if it looks like part of the design will be cut off by the sides of the frame. Print preview is always a great idea!

Trim the Printable

Use the frame insert to cut the delivery driver thank you printable to fit into the frame. I like to use a paper trimmer. It makes life so much easier! Then pop it into a frame, and you’ve got an adorable printable to let those hard-working men and women know you’re thankful that they’re making your Christmas shopping a cinch!

Prep the Snack Basket

I used a short basket without a handle. It’s about 18″ long and 10″ or so wide. Since I didn’t want the framed thank you snack printable and the heavy drinks to sink down into the basket, I placed a brown paper bag (opened flat) under the place I wanted the frame. Later I also put some heavy plastic bags that some of my kids’ gifts were shipped in under the section the drinks would be. Go ahead and do that now so you don’t have to undo everything later like I did! I placed a red plastic tablecloth over the filler. You can use tissue paper as well, but the tablecloth won’t get all wet and yuck from the condensation from the drinks. It’s at least 75° every day here, so they get sweaty quick!

I decided to add two bows to my basket. They’re just simple four loop bows with four tails. One ribbon is dark green linen and the other is tan with patterned Christmas trees on it that match the trees in the printable. The bow in the front is smaller so that you can still see the green ribbon. I used hot glue to attach them to the front corners. If you’re using a basket with a handle, adding a cute loopy bow like this easy decor bow would be cute. If you have a hard time forming loops and holding on to everything, this loopy bow is so super easy that even my hubby and son can do it!

Next I just hot glued them on the front of my basket.

Fill the Basket

Finally, fill the basket with snacks and/or drinks. You want to balance the basket, adding tall items to each side, then work inward.

Now place your framed thank you printable & snack basket on your porch for the delivery drivers to enjoy!

Easy, right?! I’m sure you’ll be a favorite on everyone’s delivery route. You’re giving two gifts in one. Giving them calories to keep them going and saving them money on drinks and snacks they’d normally have to purchase!

You can place the sign in the snack basket, or you can place it near it. I tried it both ways.

Here’s our porch for now. We are adding more lights and decorations tomorrow. Remember this is a blog hop, so keep reading to see what the other bloggers on the hop have to share with you this month!

    1. What a lovely and generous idea to say thank you. I often think how hard it must be being a delivery driver, especially at this time of year and wonder when they get to eat or drink. This is so thoughtful.

    2. What a wonderful act of kindness to the delivery community – especially one that show you really care! My neighbor sets out a cooler with water and snacks for anyone who comes to the neighborhood on a weekly basis. The trash and recycle people stop by on every pickup and I’ve even seen the guys who cut my grass go over and get water. The word has gotten out about her thoughtfulness!

    3. I love this idea, and I have a holiday basket that would be perfect for this. I love the sign you made, and the ribbon you used to create the bows is really pretty! I’m pinning this! I definitely need to make a basket like this since I order stuff pretty often… 🙂

    4. Hi Niki, I love this idea and your printable is so sweet. I wanted to let you know that this post is included in my new weekly round up of favorite links from around the web called Sunday Social.
Hope you’re having a great holiday!
      xx, Maria
