Welcome back to You’re the Star Blog Hop! I’m glad you’ve come to link up your family friendly post, but before we get to the fun and the features, I’d like to share a few related posts from my blog last week.
Check out last week’s posts!
Lately I’ve seen aged metal galvanized flower pots, buckets, and tubs everywhere. Dollar Tree has several options of metal pots, but they are shiny and new. Instead of paying more for the aged look, I decided to try to do it on my own. In this post I show you how to age any galvanized metal. Why leave it there? My pot was kind of plain with twine wrapped around the top few inches, but I wanted more of a farmhouse look. So I added vinyl to it to fit in with the farmhouse theme. If you don’t have a Cricut, I also tell you how to use stencils or letter stickers instead. You can get either of those from Dollar Tree too!
The end of the school year is here This year has flown by for me. I didn’t want to completely get away from me before letting my son’s teachers know how thankful I am for the love and knowledge they’ve poured into him! Needing to come up with something that was very budget-friendly, I came up with this thoughtful gift basket (sounded better than gift pot, ha). I used the idea above, aged two metal galvanized flower pots for them, then added a large paper flower, a packet of flower seeds, and a printable that I created for them. It says, “You have planted seeds of knowledge that will grow in me forever. Thank you for helping me grow!” In this post you can get that printable for free in two different colors! In it you will see how to put the pot together using wood skewers.
