Yesterday I shared a beach yarn wreath with you. Today I am sharing a “Xerox copy,” so to say, of that wreath, but with a more in depth tutorial for using your Cricut to make it. Today is the third to last day of the blogger A to Z Challenge, so that means today’s challenge is the letter X. X for Xerox copy. I think that was pretty clever, lol. If you know how to use your Cricut to cut your sea animal, use my tutorial for this one’s sister wreath I posted yesterday. You will just put the seahorse on that one, and substitute it for a crab on this one.

For this tutorial you need:

• styrofoam wreath form
• yarn (I used a light robin’s egg blue.)
• white 1.5″ wired-ribbon
• twine
• nautical rope
• seashells
• cardstock paper (I used a scrapbook paper pack in a beach theme.)
• scissors
• hot glue and glue gun

Open Design Space and create a new project. On the left side tool bar, click “Image.”

In the search bar that pops up, type “crab.” Select the crab that is just the outline, then hit the green “Insert Images” button.

Now resize image so that it fits on your wreath form. I used the green 10″ styrofoam wreath form from Dollar Tree, so I made the crab 4.436″ wide. Then click the green “Make It” button on the top right of the screen.

You are now at the cut screen. Click the green “Continue” button at the bottom of the screen.

Turn on you Cricut if you haven’t already, and plug it in to your computer. Set the dial to “Cardstock.” Put your cardstock paper on your green standard mat. You will see this on your computer screen.

Load the mat in the machine by slipping it under the tabs near the blade, on the left and right sides, and press the green flashing arrow button. Your mat will be brought into the machine. Now click the green flashing “C.” It will now cut your image. When it is done, press the flashing arrow again, which will eject your mat.

Remove the cardstock paper and crab carefully from the mat.
