You can use multiple designs on each DIY bookmark. Place transfer tape over the first layer of vinyl.

If you'd like, you can cover the entire clear DIY bookmark with a printed vinyl like I did for this one.

Smooth it down with a scraper or credit card.

Add the next layers of vinyl. I added a brush stroke over the floral vinyl to provide contrast for the final layer.

Finally add your name or word. I used gold glitter vinyl.

On this DIY bookmark I left most of the Dollar Tree cutting mat showing & added a floral brush stroke to the middle with my name in gold on it.

Now, make a tassel with embroidery thread. Leave a skein in tact & cut off 4 6" pieces.

Tie a piece around the loop, with the skein still rolled normally.

Tie a second piece 1/4" from the top of the skein.

Wrap the thread around the tassel and glue it in place. If you have a large eye needle you can feed the end through, but I didn't have one.

Repeat that process on the other end of the skein, then cut them in half to form 2 tassels.

This is the finished tassel made with embroidery thread.

...and tie it in a knot about 1/2" from the bookmark.

That's it! Now you can use your personalized bookmark, give it as a gift, or make a bunch & sell them!
