Master Bedroom Refresh Week 1: Redecoration Inspiration

Happy Friday! Today I am beginning a One Room at a Time Refresh that will last about a month. In that time I will be redecorating my master bedroom, and in this post I will be sharing the bare room as well as a few inspiration pieces that I will be using in my room. Let’s talk about it!

Joining me on this One Room at a Time series is Terrie of Decorate and More with Tip and Tammy of Patina and Paint. They will be redecorating a bathroom and a dining room, so be sure to check out their posts linked at the end of every Friday’s decorating update!

Starting with a Bare Room

I removed all of the decor from my room to start with so that I would have a blank canvas.

There are a few things that I need to do to the room. The first thing will be to fix this closet door that has been broken since we bought our home a little over a year ago! On Christmas Eve it fell off and gave me a concussion and then hit my leg. I ended up with another blood clot from the leg impact, so this door must be fixed!

There are two closets in our master bedroom, and they stretch across one wall. I would like to repaint the doors at least, but we’ll see if I’m able to get to that.

In the rest of the room, I need to get new window treatments, bedding, reupholster the headboard, replace the nightstands, and decorate the master bedroom with a few of my inspiration pieces and other decor. Here is what it looks like pretty bare. Ugh… It’s pretty small, but it’s ours, so I’m thankful.

Inspiration Pieces

This room refresh began with this beautiful wall art mirror piece that I found on Amazon. I believe I will hang it above the headboard, but I’m not positive yet.

Next, I found this rug on Amazon with shades of blue, white, and gray blended throughout. It’s a 6×9, but I’m not sure about it now that I’ve laid it out in the room a little.

I ordered this beige farmhouse rug just in case that one doesn’t work. I’m leaning more towards this one. It’s only a 5×7, but hopefully it will work. I’m a member of Amazon’s Vine program, so they offer me certain items for free in exchange for reviewing them. That’s the only reason I’m able to get these pieces in this economy with all of my medical bills, lol!

I also found these wall mounted nightstands that would be great in the room since it’s so small. We do have one small white regular one, so I might have to buy the matching one to that one. We’ll see over the next week.

      1. Thank you, Jenna! I love it too. It’s what started everything. I just have to figure out where to put it, which rug to use, print out pictures for wall art, find a way to fix that darn closet door that nearly killed me with a blood clot lol. So much to do! I can’t wait for it to be completed & be a sanctuary for my husband & I. I also hate the wall color, but I don’t know if we can afford to paint it. We’ll see. Thanks for tuning in for the refresh!

    1. Niki I can’t wait to see how it all turns out! Such pretty pieces that you are adding – I know it’s going to be beautiful.

      1. Thank you, Tammy! I need to figure out which rug to use! The beige one just came in & I’m so torn. I love the beige one, with the farmhouse style, but it’s only a 5×7. Everyone- help! LOL!

I'd love to hear what you think! Leave me a comment below!
