Welcome to Happiness is Homemade! Before we get to this week’s features, let’s check out what’s been going on here on the blog over the past few days. will be choosing the features for the month of October, so load me up with some great ones (as you always do)!

We have started our Decorate with Us Christmas 2023 this week! Each week until Christmas, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday I, along with Terrie of Decorate & More with Tip & Tammy of Patina & Paint, will be posting videos on Facebook and short ones on Instagram of our Christmas decorating. This Tuesday was Prep with Us and I shared my Christmas color palette and patterns. On Friday’s video I shared my

On Friday’s video I shared how to prep your house before starting your decorating process. That includes cleaning areas you normally don’t get to, completely clearing all decor, removing rugs and curtains, etc. I hope you’ll check it out! Be sure to follow me as we begin to decorate next week!

November 7-9 I will be speaking at Hobby Scool’s Holiday Prep Summit (no, it’s not a spelling error, lol). There are 16 expert speakers that you do not want to miss! I will be speaking and giving a tutorial for creating mini embroidery wreath ornaments. Other talks will be given for creating the perfect Christmas tree bow topper, Christmas recipes, self-care for the holidays, gift bag and gift wrap designs, and sooo much more! I would love for you to be there, so you can get your free Holiday Prep Summit ticket here! If you’re one of my bloggy friends, I would so appreciate it if you would share one of my posts about the summit of Facebook or Instagram. Anytime I can do the same for you, holler!

There’s more Christmas decorating ideas & DIYs, along with some free printables, coming so make sure you don’t miss them by following me on social media and via email. Enter your email address below to get an email when I add a new post, including link parties so you never forget to link up!

Now on to the Party!

Welcome to Happiness is Homemade Link Party #504! It’s Niki from Life as a LEO Wife here, back again, choosing the features for this week.

With Halloween past, the holiday season is now upon us! Most of us bloggers have now moved into Christmas decorating since we’re here to help give inspirational decor to others. Before we move into that on the link party, since Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away (can you believe that?!), I thought I’d share some fabulous ideas for the holiday that were shared last week. Let’s take a look at them!

Missed the party last week? Check it out here!

This Week’s Features

Mary Jo of Master”pieces” of My Life is a master of finding fabulous items at thrift stores to use in home decor. This cornucopia is one such item that she was able to re-fab into a beautiful piece to use as a Thanksgiving centerpiece. Check out her post to see the before photos of this piece and for inspiration that shows you that thrift store pieces don’t have to be perfect when you purchase them. Visit your local thrift stores now to see the Thanksgiving items they are sure to have put out that you can use on your own table!

This pumpkin pie banner, made by Beth of Creatively Beth, is an adorable garland that would be perfect to hang during your family Thanksgiving dinner! I can imagine this hung over the table as we all gather at my grandmother’s house, enjoying tons of delicious food. Beth gives a full tutorial for making these in her post, so you don’t have to just imagine; you can make your own!

Those of us with children and grandchildren in the family know that keeping them calm while we wait for dinner to be ready can sometimes be a challenge. This thankful turkey bucket craft by Darcy of Darcy and Brian is a fabulous way to keep them busy but also serves as a way to help them show their gratitude for all that they’ve been blessed with over the last year. You could have a bucket for everyone in the family and use them as place settings because showing gratitude is important for everyone of all ages!

Though I rarely feature food (because I’m no cook!), it’s Thanksgiving, which is all about the food! This juicy and tender crock pot turkey breast with cranberry sauce recipe by Melissa of Blessed Simplicity looks so good and like something that even I can cook! Our family does ham (my late grandfather has an AMAZING recipe), but my son loves turkey too, so he’s been begging for one this year. This little turkey breast recipe is perfect for those like us who don’t all eat turkey or for smaller families!

These Oreo turkeys, created by Crystal of Crystal and Camp, are absolutely adorable, aren’t they?! Littles in the family sometimes don’t want the kinds of desserts that we often have available at Thanksgiving, but I’m sure they’d jump at the chance to have one of these cuties. Plus, wouldn’t they look great on your dessert table?! Or you could bring them to your child’s Thanksgiving classroom party and be the hero mom of the class!

Did you know we have a Pinterest Board where all features are saved to?  Save our pins to your own board for your future reference, easy peasy!
