Happiness is Homemade #503

Welcome to Happiness is Homemade! Before we get to this week’s features, let’s check out what’s been going on here on the blog over the past few days. will be choosing the features for the month of October, so load me up with some great ones (as you always do)!

Halloween is just a few days away, and if you’re looking for a last-minute decoration, this ghost candleholder is adorable and only takes a few minutes to create! This is a dupe of a $79.50 Pottery Barn pillow, but I show you how to make it for less than $5. You can use it as a pillow or continue with the tutorial and create the candleholder.

These mini wreath sheet music ornaments match coordinate with the one I shared next and the ones that I will be sharing at the Holiday Prep Summit (read on for more on that!!). In the post I shared 8 pages of free printable vintage Christmas sheet music for you to print out.

Finally, this week, I shared 3 different DIYs that you can make with clear Christmas ornaments: frayed fabric, glitter, and sheet music cut with Christmas tree sheets. These coordinate with the mini wreath ornaments as well.

November 7-9 I will be speaking at Hobby Scool’s Holiday Prep Summit (no, it’s not a spelling error, lol). There are 16 expert speakers that you do not want to miss! I will be speaking and giving a tutorial for creating mini embroidery wreath ornaments. Other talks will be given for creating the perfect Christmas tree bow topper, Christmas recipes, self-care for the holidays, gift bag and gift wrap designs, and sooo much more! I would love for you to be there, so you can get your free Holiday Prep Summit ticket here! If you’re one of my bloggy friends, I would so appreciate it if you would share one of my posts about the summit of Facebook or Instagram. Anytime I can do the same for you, holler!

There’s more Christmas decorating ideas & DIYs, along with some free printables, coming so make sure you don’t miss them by following me on social media and via email. Enter your email address below to get an email when I add a new post, including link parties so you never forget to link up!

Now on to the Party!

Welcome to Happiness is Homemade Link Party #503! It’s Niki from Life as a LEO Wife here, back again, choosing the features for the month of October. It’s the last weekend of October, so I wanted to share some ideas that you can use on Halloween this Tuesday. Set up a fun Halloween dinner for your family, create some last-minute decorations, or make some spooky snacks for your child’s Halloween classroom party. Let’s get into it!

Missed the party last week? Check it out here!

This Week’s Features

Patty over at Life is Better Lakeside created this beautiful dancing skeleton tablescape that I think is just fabulous! You have to go over and check it out because there are so many cute things on the table that you just can’t see in this photo. Things like skeleton hand napkin rings, different scenes on each bread and butter plate, and serving platters on the ends of the table. Her house is deemed the “skeleton house” in the neighborhood, and I think they named it well!

If you need a quick, easy, and inexpensive treat to send for your child’s Halloween classroom party, then these Reese’s cup and pretzel witch brooms, made by Jen of Cincy Shopper, are just what you’re looking for! Her tutorial shows you how to make these cuties in just a few minutes . There’s also a recipe that you can print out and add to your recipe book, but I think once you make these, you’ll remember how to do it forever!

This feature isn’t Halloween per se, but this Italian sausage in cabernet sauce recipe, by What’s Cookin’ Italian Style Cuisine, looks like the perfect Halloween dinner to serve your family or party guests! Doesn’t it look like fingers?! My family and I will be doing our Halloween family movie night where we have themed food, I make printables (see yesterday’s post to get yours for free) with food and drink tent cards, decor, invites, games, and more, and this recipe would be perfect for our celebration! The post says that you could serve it over rice, pasta, make a sandwich, etc. Check out the recipe to see all the options!

This easy Dollar Tree Halloween wreath made by Emily of Hunny I’m Home is the perfect last-minute wreath for you to make and hang on your door to welcome trick or treaters. It’s looks so super simple, like something you could make in under 15 minutes! All you need is a wreath form, black spider web to fluff the base, black creepy cloth, and embellishments. Check out her tutorial to see how easily put all of this together!

This Beetlejuice gnome Halloween scarf made by T’onna of Sew Crafty Crochet is a great scarf for you to get started on for next year since Beetlejuice 2 will be coming out! It would also be great to wear during your Beetlejuice Halloween family movie night (go all out with food, drinks, decor, games & more). T’onna is always making adorable scarves for every season and holiday, so be sure to check her post out for this tutorial and other great ideas!

  2. Thank you for hosting. I enjoy seeing all the linked blogs here. Hope you enjoy some Cheap Creamy Tasting Potato soup if it has turned cold there like it has here in KY.
