Welcome to Happiness is Homemade! Before we get to this week’s features, let’s check out what’s been going on here on the blog over the past few days. Be sure to head over and link up on Crafty Creators before you go! Katie from My Messy Messy Mess is choosing our features for the month of September!

This week I joined a few lovely ladies to take you on a tour through our fall home. I hope that you’ll come along and let me know what you think! I finished decorating for the first month of fall just in time to start decorating for Halloween this week, lol! Please join Tammy of Patina and Paint and I as we decorate our homes, space by space, room by room, for Halloween! We will begin with a video and blog post decorating our mantle on Tuesday. I hope you’ll join and follow me over on Facebook to see the video!

Now on to the Party!

Welcome to the Happiness Is Homemade Link Party #497 – Katie again from Love My Messy Messy Mess as I continue my hosting journey through September.

My kids and I, along with my family, are returning from a fun weekend of camping at Camp Chautauqua. They had their Fall Festival, and let me tell you, the trick-or-treating is better than Halloween!  Jello shots and Truly’s for mom, full size candy bars and goodies galore for the kids!

This Week’s Features

There are so many times that one of my boys has lost a tooth and I didn’t have ANY cash on me…….problem solved with Alison’s post, Tooth Fairy Gift Ideas, from her blog Organized Motherhood. Bravo Alison!

September is one of my favorite months here in Western New York. It tends to be drier than the spring with cooler days filled with sunshine.  I love my iced and cold coffees over the summer but this recipe for salted caramel cold brew sounds like a delicious way to transition through the fall.

I love me a good craft project (even though I have a pile of unfinished ones in various locations around my house!), especially Halloween for sure.  Check out this tutorial for DIY spell book Halloween decoration craft from the Darcy Bryan blog. How cute would this look on a tiered tray or a shelf?

It is very unforunate but I do not have a Chinese rstaraunt within 25 minutes of my home.  So if that’s what I’m craving,  I either have to plan well in advance so I can pick it up on my way out of town/work OR make it myself.  I’m pinning this recipe for orange chile chicken because this looks right up my ally.  This recipe comes from Chasing My Life blog.

Bonus Feature

This update from Debbee of Deb’s Buzz blew me away – the simple yet gorgeous look of her black pedestal planter is absolutely stunning.  In this Updated Curb Appeal post, she shows what she and her husband have done with their landscaping and house front. I’m copying this planter next year for sure!

  1. Thank you for featuring my Chinese Chile Chicken recipe. I hope you enjoy it. We don’t have a great choice of restaurants here either so I’ve been making my own. Have a great week.

I'd love to hear what you think! Leave me a comment below!
