Did you know that you’re supposed to clean your washing machine every month and your dryer twice a year (at least)? If you haven’t done that in a while, you’ll definitely want to check out my tutorial for giving your washer and dryer a full, deep cleaning!

This Week’s Features!

Summer is rapidly coming to a close, but that you still have time to get in a few crafty summer projects. How about sun painting? I had never heard of it, but Gail of Purple Hues and Me shared a really cute sun-painted bandana tutorial that looks like so much fun!

How cute is this pinstripe bolster pillow made by Cara of Vintage Style Gal?! Her tutorial is completely no-sew, which is perfect for those who don’t have a machine or those who aren’t the most adept at using it! Ahem, I’m looking at me here.

My family and I absolutely Outback’s blooming onions. Imagine my delight at finding Esme’s, of Esme’s Salon, blooming onion recipe! I can’t wait to try it out. Be sure to pin her tutorial so you can too!

Claire of Pillar Box Blue shared a roundup of 25 DIY projects to make with velvet, and I think I want to make more than half of them! Velvet is perfect for upcoming fall decor, so you don’t want to miss the DIY acorns, leaves, mushrooms, and pumpkins!

Over the past two weeks I’ve made a few really easy macrame projects, so when I saw this macrame towel holder, made by Wendy of My French Twist, I had to share it. These would make fabulous handmade hostess gifts, wouldn’t they?! Trust me, macrame is so much easier than it looks. You can start making them now for Christmas gifts!
