This Week’s Features!

We didn’t have many Memorial Day posts shared last week, but we’ve got some great ones to use through the whole red, white, and blue era! Jenna over at The Painted Apron shared a roundup of red, white, and blue decor that you can use all summer, from May through September! I love this red, white, and beach tree that is shared in the post! Isn’t it so cute?! Perfect for those of you who like to use a Christmas tree for different holidays all year. Check out the post for more ideas!

Beth Wilson of Whispers of the Heart shared a beautiful patriotic tablescape that’s sure to inspire you. I love the Preamble on the centerpiece and the different iterations of our flag and “1776” on the plates! This is a perfect tablescape for the upcoming patriotic holidays, Father’s Day (if you have a LEO or military dad), July 4th, Flag Day, and Labor Day.

If you have a Memorial Day parade in your area, I highly encourage you to participate. Anytime we can come together as a community with the love of our nation in our hearts, it’s bound to be a great time! If not, create your own Memorial Day parade in your backyard like Penny from Penny’s Vintage Home did! Isn’t this absolutely to-die for?! She always sets up the cutest “little vignettes” in her backyard and I love them.

These DIY wood buoys made Diane at South House Designs are a perfect addition to your coastal farmhouse decor. If you have a good saw, they’re super easy to make and are just beautiful! Don’t you love them as a door hanger? Fabulous job, Diane! If you don’t have a saw, last year I shared a set made with dry floral foam. Don’t worry, I show you how to make the finish smooth and not styrofoam-like!

Beth over at Creatively Beth shared a great patriotic decor piece that you can make using your vintage rulers! I love having it hung with the greenery in the background. It reminds me of a wind chime, but without the noise. You can use it as wall decor or a door hanger as well. I love how she carried the measurement theme throughout with the star made from a tape measure!
