Happiness is Homemade #465

Welcome to Happiness is Homemade! Mel from Decor Craft Design will be choosing our features for the month of December. Before we get to this week’s features, let’s check out what’s been going on here on the blog over the past few days. Be sure to head over and link up on Crafty Creators before you go! If you missed last week’s party, you can check it out here.

This material, in addition to everything else on this website, is copyrighted! If I find it on DIY News Hubb, I will add additional damages to the lawsuit that has been filed. For all of my blogger friends, I hope that you’ll go over to their website to check to see if they have stolen any of your content as well. It appears to be a site that just steals content from bloggers who put their extremely hard work and time into their blogs. They put your content on their site as their own but remove anything that would indicate it’s yours. They even stole one of my gift guides (the one below), leaving a blank page with headers and a few words, lol. What the heck?! That site then gets ad revenue from your content resulting in lost wages and other damages to you. I pray that they haven’t done to you what they have to me. If you find your content, I would suggest suing them as that is the only way it seems that I will get MY content removed for the site. We’ve sent messages demanding that it be removed without response. There is no email address or other contact information on the site, only a “contact us” page that we all have on our blogs. If anyone wants to out them on your site and/or social media that would be awesome. We need to let the world know they are stealing content from hard working ladies and gentlemen. I work 10-14 hours every single day on my blog. Stealing is disgusting!

This week I shared this adorable Valentine’s advent calendar that you can make with a Dollar Tree macrame photo hanger and a few sheets of cardstock! You can also use it as an affordable DIY gift for your kids or hubby by placing love notes or love coupons in the envelopes!

Welcome to Happiness is Homemade! This is Niki from over at Life as a LEO Wife, and I get the honor of writing and choosing the features for the month of February. I always have a difficult time choosing from all of the great posts that all of you share here on the party. I’m so glad that I get to choose during this month of love!

This Week’s Features

MaryJo over at Master”pieces” of My Life shared 5 fantastic Valentine’s decorations that can be made with moss, like this fabulous XOXO wreath. I love that all of the ideas are unique and move away from the standard red and pink of normal Valentine’s decor ideas!

If you’re creating an at home Valentine’s celebration like we are, this heart napkin fold creating by Debbee of Debbee’s Buzz would be the perfect addition to your tablescape of love!

These heart shaped rice krispie treats, shared by Lenny of Fat Dad Foodie, would be the perfect addition to your child’s classroom Valentine’s Day party. You wouldn’t even have to send an extra Valentine for each child because these cuties would be made in their very own heart shaped cookie cutter that they can take home!

I’m sure that all of our crafty friends out there have some scrap wood lying around somewhere. This DIY pallet photo holder made by Regina from Saved from Salvage would be a great way to use up some of that wood that’s just collecting dust. It’s a piece of decor that you can change up for every season and holiday with ease!

Julie over at Sum of Their Stories made this recycled heart art canvas was made with things that she found in her craft stash, and I’m sure you have everything you need to make your own already. I can just picture a large version of this as a photo backdrop for a wedding (in your wedding colors) or for parties. Wouldn’t that be cute?!

  1. Niki, thanks so much for the feature this week! As you know, I love to use napkin folds to enhance a table setting. So sorry about the stealing of your creative content! I’ll have to take a look. A few weeks ago, I found a lighting company highlighting the best decorated chandeliers. They cropped the photo to remove my watermark, didn’t attribute to me or link to my site. I told them to remove it and they did, with no apology. But they left all the others up with no attribution.

    1. Yes, it’s awful! I’m having to sue which takes money. They have at least 25 of my posts up. I’ve even made it so that you can’t highlight or copy & paste anything. Somehow they’re still doing it! I’ve warned them, told them it’s all copyrighted, but they won’t even respond. They took this post as well!

I'd love to hear what you think! Leave me a comment below!
