Welcome to Happiness is Homemade! Linda from A Labour of Life will be choosing our features for the month of October. Before we get to this week’s features, let’s check out what’s been going on here on the blog over the past few days. Be sure to head over and link up on Crafty Creators and You’re the Star Blog Hop before you go! If you missed last week’s party, you can check it out here. Remember to comment on You’re the Star Blog Hop for your chance to be featured on that party! I do not choose my features from last month’s party because I feel like it’s too far back. For example, I don’t want to choose a Halloween post in November lol! I will only visit those posts in the comments on that party because I have two others. I really want to choose from a wider range of blogs, so head over & comment now!
I apologize for the party being posted a bit later this morning! There’s only one tutorial to share with you this past week because I went into hypovolemic shock from severe dehydration. I am doing better now, just a bit weak. Y’all, I prayed straight through making the wreath and writing that post and Thursdays Crafty Creators Link Party. I didn’t think I was going to make it, but God, through His endless mercy and grace, staved off the worst of my episode until about 1:45 in the morning after I finished about 9 Wednesday night. Praise Him! I covet your prayers because it seems that my small intestine is now failing, after already having my large intestine removed. They say this is just the next step in my illness. God’s got this though, and until this I had been having a decent year for me with only one other in hospital stay! Thank you to all of you who have already been praying and in advance to all of you who will.
Two of these adorable color block Halloween wreaths have been in my collection for years, but Hubby broke one, so I got the pleasure of remaking one to show you the process.
If you missed it last week, I shared free PNGs (which work just like SVGs if you have a cutting machine) and printables that you can use to make a Halloween porch sign like this one. In the tutorial I explain how you can do so, with or without a Cricut!
I’ve got some more great fall and Halloween decor upcoming, along with some free printables, so make sure you don’t miss them by following me on social media and email. Enter your email address below to get an email when I add a new post, including link parties so you never forget to link up!
This Week’s Feature
Happy Almost Halloween. What a fun month! This week a little reflection on the fact that there have been 451 parties. Holy moly! Interesting fact, when this link up first started, they had guest hosts selected from among those who linked up.
I was not one of the original hosts but rather a “linkee” who got selected several months in a row to guest host. That was my first experience with blog parties. Fast forward and here I am years later, still loving it.
So shameless plug, we are a great bunch to party with if you want to join our little hosting group.
This is my last week of hosting until the new year. I love hosting for October, and this year there were5 weeks for me to create. All the other months my amazing co-hosts share their favs. This month, A Labour of Life gets to share her love of fall, Canadian Thanksgiving, and Halloween. For this Canadian it is an amazing time of year.

Celebration of Fall
This week, I really wanted a return to all things fall, so I am back to my standard, sips, and fun.
First up is the cutest Festive Fall Outdoor Tablescape from Pure Happy Home. This gorgeous tablescape just got my eye and instantly switched my theme to a pure Fall celebration. I love the fact that she found the table for 20.00 and had her boys refinish it, a true family experience happening here.

Fall Porch Sign
Next up from Cloches and Lavendar is a stunning DIY Porch Sign. This easy DIY method for how to make a fun porch sign, plus as a bonus she is sharing fun porch decor ideas at the same time.

Dinner with Pumpkins
Next up is dinner of course. Can it really be Fall without a taste of Pumpkin? Well Create Kids Club has shared the tastiest Fall soup, Crockpot Pumpkin Soup. I have pinned this recipe, perfect for those cool nights we are about to have. This crockpot pumpkin soup is packed with beans, tomatoes, and pumpkin which blends in deliciously. It’s a filling meatless meal that cooks all day and is ready for dinner whenever you are! Gluten-free.

Mini Dining Options for Fall
Normally I would be sharing a seasonal drink, aka fun cocktail but this week the dinner options just caught my eyes. Sharing the “funnest” dinner idea, mini meatloaves from The Big Green House. Not only healthy and tasty but the presentation is perfect. Plus what an awesome way to make meatloaf pretty as a picture.
Mini Meatloaves- The classic comfort food made in a mini version. They come together quickly and making them smaller cuts your cooking time in half. Serve them with your favorite starchy side and call it dinner.

I know I promised a Halloween extravaganza this week but do you blame me for switching lanes. So much Fall goodness to share
But for this week a bonus dessert feature. Pumpkin Pie Dip from Lamberts Lately because I could not resist.
