Fall Printables with Farmhouse Style Dollar Tree Frames

I absolutely love decorating for fall. So much so that I change my decor every single month for the last quarter of the year! That can get expensive, but I’ve got a great way that you can add some new pieces this year for free. Just print my beautiful free fall watercolor printables, pop them in frames and you’ll have new decor! I used some cheap Dollar Tree frames that I gave a little farmhouse makeover, and I’ll show you how to do that as well.

These colors are perfect for early fall and for perpetually hot areas (like down here on the Gulf Coast where I live!). Plus, they’re just beautiful! This chenille wreath, this burlap pumpkin wreath, and this pumpkin vase centerpiece are just a few posts here on the blog that match these printables perfectly. If you don’t have time to read them now, just click over and pin them for later!

Supplies for Free Fall Printables with Farmhouse Frames:

Supplies for printables & Dollar Tree farmhouse frame upcycle: Dollar Tree frames, white cardstock with fall printables printed on them, gray chalk paint, white & black acrylic paint.

For personal use only. All of my free printables & cut files are copyrighted material. Feel free to download these free designs and print them or use on your Cricut projects for your own use at home. They are not for commercial use, not to be placed on items for sale. That helps me keep these printables, SVGs, and PNGs coming to you for free! Another note: you will not my logo overlay on your downloaded design. It is there to keep people from downloading the images straight from Google, or others from stealing them to use on their site. Thanks for understanding! Feel free to share this post for your friends and family to make their own projects with this design!

Download & Print Fall Signs

I created four different watercolor fall signs for you to print and frame to use as fall decor from September through the end of November. I created them as 5x7s, but I cut the Thankful print down to a 4×6. Check your print settings and choose the size you want to print, or your printer will blow them up to fit an 8.5×11 sheet of paper. The one I used as a 4×6 was printed as a 5×7, but it fits the frame well. The “blessed” print would be a great 4×6 as well. Simply download, print, and frame. They are PNG files, so you can blow them up or shrink them down without losing quality. If you only have 8×10 frames, choose that size in the print settings.

Remember, my logo will not be over the downloaded design.

Print & Trim the Fall Printables

Once you’ve downloaded the free designs, print each one on a piece of white cardstock. Regular paper will work, but they look better on cardstock. If you don’t have a home printer, you can download the files and print them at Walmart or an office supply store. You could also order prints to ship in two days from Walmart.

Take the insert out of your Dollar Tree frames and center it over the design. I like to outline the edges of the insert onto the cardstock before I trim it with my paper cutter. That way I can line up the pencil lines for a perfect cut. You don’t have to do that with designs that have clearly defined edges, but these are free floating.

Use scissors or a paper slicer to cut along the pencil lines. I cut the “thankful” fall printable to fit landscape style into a 4×6 frame. The “blessed” sign also looks best landscape.

Upcycle Dollar Tree Frames

I had a few Dollar Tree picture frames to use, but they were just plain and pretty ugly. There were all different, one black, one gold, and one blue. So, out came the acrylic and chalk paints to give them a little farmhouse makeover.

If you’d like to give your own DT frames a little re-fab, paint them with white or gray chalk paint.

If you have a gold frame, dry brush your gray and white chalk paint on it to tamp down the brightness a little.

Here my black frame only had one coat of gray chalk paint, but I gave it two in the end.

Once the gray paint dries, dry brush white over it. I also added a few strokes of black on all three of my frames.

Now display your free fall printables in your spruced up frames!

We bought new furniture that’s been shipped in pieces, and we just got the final coffee table last week. When we ordered all of the pieces, we hadn’t moved into our new house, and I misjudged the size of the living room and only bought one side table. So, I ordered a small ladder shelf from Amazon to go on one side of the living room for now. It’s perfect for a farmhouse look, and I really like it considering how cheap it was. (Note: I’m an Amazon affiliate, so if you purchase anything through the link, I will get a small commission at no additional cost to you. That helps me keep these printables & decor ideas coming to you for free!)

I popped all of my free fall printables in a frame and set them on the shelf with some fabric and glass pumpkins. They look great, and also match these gorgeous watercolor fall pillowcases!

They're hanging on either side of a grouping of four decorative mirrors above a white couch with fall pillows. On the coffee table sits a fall vignette, on the end table is another fall vignette, and a decorative ladder shelf on the right of the couch is decorated with fall decor.
