Don’t forget to link up on Happiness is Homemade, and let’s get to the posts that I shared over the last week.
I’ve been waiting for inspiration to strike to use some seashell shaped Easter eggs that I got from Dollar Tree a few years ago, and finally this week it did! Check out my tutorial to make beautiful coastal bookends that are perfect for summer decor.
Sunday was our monthly DIY Blog Hop, and our challenge was to make a DIY project for less than $20. I wanted to change the look of our headboard, and I was able to create a lovely upholstered headboard for $10.88!
This past week it was also time for our Sustainable Pinterest Challenge with the task of creating an item using something that’s been meant to throw away or a way to reuse an item meant for one-time use. I decided to use packaging materials that came in a TV box. I’m sure you’ve seen the wood planter box on Pinterest, and I found a way to make one for free! Check out my faux wood planter centerpiece that you can customize to fit your home decor.
I have some more free printables, home decor tutorials & outside projects, so make sure you follow me on social media using the buttons in the sidebar. That way you don’t miss them! Enter your email address below to get an email when I add a new post, including new link parties, so you never forget to join us!

This Week’s Features
Featured Bloggers: Follow me on FB & IG for more recognition! If you are featured this week, let me know in the comments if you’re following me on Facebook and/or Instagram. Just a short “following” will do. If you are following me, I will schedule a post promoting your featured post across all of my social media accounts including FB, IG, Twitter, MeWe, etc. I will tag you in the post so that all of your followers can see how great your post was as well! The social media features happen throughout the weekend and just before next week’s party (usually on Tuesday and Wednesday nights). Last week I had two of the featured bloggers let me know they were following, so they were featured last night as a lead-up to this week’s party. I love showing y’all some love! If it’s been a while since you’ve been featured and you’re following, leave me a comment just in case. I’ve got a lot of craziness going on and a terrible short-term memory lol!
Carol, from Comfort Spring, has a yummy recipe to start your day off right! Her Lemon Blueberry Quinoa recipe is high in protein and fiber. She lists other berries that you can substitute in the recipe. Head on over to her blog to get the recipe!
Debbie, from Debbie Dabble, has an impressive collection of strawberry decor and other fruits displayed on her kitchen hutch. You’ll find everything from a vintage strawberry tray, a pretty fruit tea set, to the cutest handmade strawberries. I wonder what she used to make those adorable berries? Visit her to find out!
Treat and Trick is sharing an apricot bread recipe with us this week. It looks scrumptious, doesn’t it? You can bake it and have it for breakfast or an afternoon snack. You’ll find more yummy breakfast recipes linked in their post, so hop over and check those out, too!
Penny, from Penny’s Treasures, has decorated her kitchen with wonderful lemon decor and dish setting. I absolutely love her pink lemonade popsicles sign. She was even able to find a faux lemon tree at an auction for a bargain price to use in her kitchen. Drop by her blog to see all her fresh summery decor!
Laura, from Me and My Inklings, has one of our summer desserts all planned out for us with her banana boat recipe. You can make this fun recipe on a camping trip, cook it on your backyard fire pit, or bake it in your oven and serve it in a dish. I’m craving bananas now!
