Happiness is Homemade Link Party #434

Welcome to Happiness is Homemade! For the month of June, Mel from Decor Craft Design will be choosing our features, but before we get there, let’s check out what’s been going on here on the blog over the past few days. Be sure to head over and link up on Crafty Creators before you go!

My husband and I got covid, and I have a severe neutrophil disorder, which means, basically that I don’t much of an immune system. It has a clock on my life, but God won’t take me until He needs me! I was very lucky to have not gotten an earlier strand of the virus. My doctor was so worried because he lost a young woman with similar immune system disorder. God kept his hand on me, and we got omicron. Even still it kicked my behind and still had to go to the doctor. I have a surgical port, and that allowed me to not have to stay in inpatient care. They can access my port and leave it accessed until I have meds and fluids for as many days as needed. Every day I go to get treatment, then go home for the night. This port is the best thing since sliced bread lol! Needless to say, I only got a post this week instead of my normal three.

I found some great beachy print fabric a few weeks ago. You might remember it from my DIY rope tray and coaster set and sitting in my upcycled thrift store basket. The reason I bought it was to cover some throw pillows with for the summer. I don’t have a sewing machine, so I had to attach the fabric in a no sew way. In this tutorial I share the easy DIY tutorial with you!

I found one more way to use my beach fabric this week, which I was super excited about. I’m telling you I really love this fabric lol! Last year I found seashell Easter eggs at Dollar Tree that I’ve also been dying to use. Combine the two and you have my easy DIY coastal bookends!

  1. Thanks so much Niki! I’m excited my Mermaid Tray is a feature this week! I hope you’re having a great 4th of July weekend!

    1. We’re going to working at home today until tonight. My son loves shooting fireworks (freaks me out the way dads and sons want to shoot them off in a way mom thinks could be dangerous lol), so they’ll be getting some in a few hours. We have amazing fireworks down here because the casinos put hundreds of thousands into them every year. We found out how little most of the country’s were over a few trips. Who knew Biloxi would have better fireworks than most of the US? lol!

  2. Thanks so much for including the Mango Parfaits in your features and hope you are having a restful and relaxing 4th of July weekend. Praying your treatment goes well and for complete healing!

I'd love to hear what you think! Leave me a comment below!
