Happiness is Homemade Link Party #431

Welcome to Happiness is Homemade! It’s a new month, so that means a new co-hostess. For the month of June, Mel from Decor Craft Design will be choosing our features. Before we get to this week’s features, let’s check out what’s been going on here on the blog over the past few days. Be sure to head over and link up on Crafty Creators before you go!

The first few weeks of every month are pretty busy here on the blog because I link up with lovely bloggers across the world to bring you amazing ideas and DIYs. Last Sunday was DIY Blog Hop with an outdoor theme. I wanted to add some color to the back corner of our new backyard. My hubby got me an old tire that I made a DIY tire planter with. It’s such an easy project that consists of only three steps! It also requires less than 30 to 45 minutes of hands-on time!

Tuesday was our monthly Sustainable Pinterest Challenge. The challenge for June was to upcycle a thrift store find. So, I went hunting through our local thrift store, which is really close to our new home. I came across a beautiful, large basket that looks like a flower or berry gathering basket. I knew exactly what I was going to do with it when I saw it. It is the perfect place to keep our throw blankets, keeping them organized and looking beautiful. Check out the farmhouse basket upcycle post to see how I did it.

Finally, Friday was our Under $10 on the 10th blog hop. This might just be my favorite project every! I made a gorgeous coastal farmhouse flag that cost me nothing, but if you had to buy everything, you could make it for around$7! It does require quite a bit of time do make it, but it’s so worth it. It’s almost 3ft wide and about 1.5ft tall. I’m so, so in love with it. You’d never believe it’s homemade and cost less than $10 to make!!
