Happiness is Homemade #423

Welcome to Happiness is Homemade! Happy Resurrection Sunday! I hope that you’re all having a blessed and joyous Easter. I’m Niki from Life as a LEO Wife, and I’m still here, choosing the features for the month of April. As always, I had a hard time choosing only five posts to highlight for this party. It had to be done however, so let’s check out this week’s features.

First, I joined up with some lovely ladies for our monthly Under $10 on the 10th Blog Hop and shared a tutorial for this rope bunny tray. You can make it for less than $7 using Dollar Tree supplies. It’s the perfect farmhouse tray to use during spring and it’s easy to make!

Recently my son came home and informed me that he was debating another child at school over the existence of God. The child him that he was an atheist which devastated my son. He asked me for some more ways to help convince the child that God is real and important, and I realized I needed to train my son a little more in apologetics. This post gives you three scientific facts that point to God as our creator. It can help your child defend their faith or will help you tell your child firm reasons that you believe in God.

After I shared my bunny rope tray, I got many comments that it would make adorable placemats. Last year I made a nautical rope tray followed by placemats, so I thought I should go ahead and do that with my bunnies. Check out the tutorial for rope bunny placemats because it’s a little bit different than the tray, and I give you some alternate ways to make the bunny ears.

This Week’s Features

Maryjo from Masterpieces of My Life created this beautiful Easter tablescape, which is so pretty! Check out the post where she shares how to create these adorable faux chocolate Easter bunnies.

Gail from Purple Hues and Me made this beautiful spring tray using wrapping paper. Her tutorial will show you how to upcycle plastic trays into pieces that perfectly fit your home. I saw some trays and beautiful wrapping paper at Dollar Tree that would be perfect for this project, so you could make a customized piece for $2.50!

In her post Kristin of White Arrows Home shared 9 ways to make your Easter celebration special. There are some great ideas in the post, including an adult Easter basket, resurrection eggs, and the reason that lilies are used to represent Jesus during the holiday.

Our own Mel over at Decor Craft Design made these adorable felt carrots that can be used in so many ways: in garlands, on wreaths, tiered trays, kids’ crafts, and so much more!

To end our Easter Sunday link party features, we have these adorable bunny butt cookies that you can make easily with your kids. No baking is required as you will be using all store bought ingredients, including pre-made cookies. I plan to try this out on Saturday as a fun activity for the kids that will give us easy Easter dessert.
