Happiness is Homemade Link Party #411

Welcome to Happiness is Homemade link party. I’m so happy that you’re here to share and be inspired by all of the wonderful homemade items that are shared here. Linda from A Labour of Life is still our hostess for the month of January, so she is choosing the features this week.

I will no longer be choosing an extra feature on this party like I used to. I am now hosting a new link party called Crafty Creators, so head over there and share all of your wonderful posts as well. It’s open Thursdays at 6am CST through Monday nights at 11:59pm CST. I will not begin to choose features until the party closes, so never worry that you’re too late linking up!

This week on the blog:

I shared a tutorial for creating a Valentine’s Day mailbox that you can make from Dollar Tree items. It’s perfect because it’s functional as well as adorable. I shared the Design Space design as well as free printables you can use on the mailbox if you don’t have a cutting machine. You can place it out as part of your Valentine decor, then in February you can use it to deliver these free printable love notes that I made for kids. There are two sets to choose from, and you have to go check out how cute they are! The mailbox in the tutorial is one that I will use to deliver my husband’s love notes. I have made a set for hubbies that I will be sharing this week. I was going to share them before the mailbox tutorial, but I wanted you to be able to make the mailbox for your kids love notes since I had already published them.

It was an interesting week, a lot of self-reflection and bloggers sharing what they are working on and what their followers loved last year.  I hope y’all know how hard it is to only pick 4 posts to highlight.  That is why I want to remind everyone to take a moment and search through the posts. This is a space to get inspired and help each other out.

A Tablescape

I have found my groove and my feature routine, so let’s start with a tablescape. This rose Valentine’s table caught my eye probably because I have been thinking hearts and flowers. Actually, it was the napkin fold that caught me. What a creative heart napkin. It’s definitely an inspiration for the gal who loves to celebrate love. Debbee’s Buzz really nailed this one!

A Tasty Mocktail: it’s pretty too!

I’m trying something new this week. Check out this yummy looking mocktail from Everyday Savvy. This mocktail recipe is simple, easy to follow, and has just a few ingredients. The mixed berry juice is a great base for this mocktail recipe. It’s great for all ages and truth be told I am thinking it would also make a great cocktail for me with a spalsh of rum or vodka.

Valentine’s Cocoa Bombs

These easy Valentine’s cocoa bombs are a fun way to celebrate Valentine’s Day. The cocoa bombs melt in hot water or milk and will burst into hot chocolate in seconds! It’s really fun to watch. Raquel from Organized Island really caught my eye with this version of a hot chocolate bomb, and quite possibly has inspired me to try my hand at it.

DIY Lip Gloss

Along the crafty line, how about this lip-smacking lip gloss. The crazy thing is, it’s made from Kool-aid and coconut oil. Simple and easy! Plus, it’s perfect on the day of hearts to keep those lips smooth and kissable. The Socialite’s Closet has a hit with this DIY.

Special Feature

In a special back-to-back feature week, I could not let the fun Painted Mason Jars from Honey I’m Home pass by. There is just something about this quick and easy craft that speaks to me. Probably because it is quick and easy.
