Happiness is Homemade #397

I am so glad you’re here to join us for the 397th Happiness is Homemade link party! I’m Niki, from Life as a LEO Wife, and I’m so enjoying visiting everyone’s wonderful posts that have been linked up during the month of October. You guys are so talented, and you make it hard for me to choose only five features! Before we get to the link party, I’d like to show you what’s gone on here on the blog over the last week.

I joined some lovely ladies for a blog hop called $10 on the 10th and the theme was pumpkins. For the hop I created this pumpkin topiary that matches my late fall theme colors of burgundy, navy, and copper. You may remember this woven yarn pumpkin wreath in burgundy.

Next I made this gorgeous fall floral hoop wreath. I am absolutely in love with this wreath! It will have a place of honor on the wall at the head of our Thanksgiving table this year. Check out the tutorial and remember to pin it so you can make your own.

Every year during certain holidays, I go all out for a family night. This Halloween our family movie night is centered around Beetlejuice. For this night, I create printables to use as decorations, we play games, and have dinner, drinks, and snacks that are, you guessed it, themed around the movie. As I write this, on Friday the 15th, we haven’t had our fun yet. That will happen tonight, and I will be posting about it on Saturday, so head out and check that post out before you leave to see exactly how we celebrate our family movie nights. Since I made many printables to use for our family, I wanted you to be able to spend quality time with yours too, so I’m sharing all of those printables with you for free! Head to the post where you can download several signs, food labels and tent cards, photobooth props, and a movie night invitation to build excitement for the fun!

Happiness is Homemade Features

This mason jar lid pumpkin sign, made by A Life of Balance, is so cute. In this post, Janet gives you a step by step tutorial so you can make your own adorable fall sign. I love that it is 3-D. It would add great depth to a fall gallery wall or a vignette.

Niky from The House on Silverado made this beautiful barn quilt by herself! It definitely doesn’t look homemade. She gives you the tutorial for making your own, and I wish I had the tools to build one myself! By the way, she has a great name right? Niki’s are very talented, if I do say so myself, wink, wink!

Next up we have this super cute witch’s broom doorhanger made by Denise at My Home of All Seasons. She has made available yet another adorable free printable to go on the broom if you’d like to make one for yourself. It’s perfect to hang on your door for all the trick-or-treaters who come to your home on Halloween to see.

I love the wire pumpkin wreath forms that Dollar Tree sells. You’ll know that if you’ve been around Life as a LEO Wife any length of time! This Halloween burlap pumpkin wreath made by Cheryl at Sew Can Do is adorable! It’s very farmhouse chic, and I love it! The bow is gorgeous, and I will definitely be attempting it on a project or two!

Our final feature is this embroidery hoop turned Halloween hoop wreath. I love upcycling items into something new and beautiful, and this wreath does just that. Ann from The Apple Street Cottage did a great job of making it look like an upscale spider web. I love the addition of the little spider climbing her silk back up to the web!

  1. Thanks so much for hosting Niki and I’m thrilled to be included in your features this week! And yes, you are absolutely right… Niki’s are extremely creative! I’ve been visiting your blog long enough to know this is a fact! It is indisputable too since I just came from visiting Niky at Sundays on Silverado! Her quilt is amazing! Thanks again and have a wonderful week ahead.

  3. Thanks for hosting. I appreciate you sharing your posts at Love Your Creativity. I am happy to share my Hallow-Queen’s party at your link party.

  4. Niki, thank you for co-hosting this party. This party is relatively new to me, so I appreciate the chance of getting acquainted with new (to me) bloggers. Whoooo knew there were so many opportunities to see so much creativity and inspiration? And what I should be doing is packing for my move that I’m in the midst of instead of creating a hOWLoween tablescape?! Oh well, tomorrow…..
    Have a great new week.
