Happiness is Homemade #391

I’m so happy to have you with us this week! I love seeing all of the wonderful things that you guys share with us. Make sure you come back and share on Traffic Jam Weekend link parties that open Thursdays at 5pm CST and run through Sunday nights. Before we get to this week’s features and party, I’d like to share what’s been going on this week on Life as a LEO Wife.

A few weeks ago I picked up some wood words from Dollar Tree, unsure of what I planned to do with them. I decided that I wanted some more fall decor that matched my reversible faux books and reversible pumpkins. Check out the tutorial to see how I made these drab words into adorable fall decor!

I also posted on some adorable Christian apparel for women. In it I discuss how to wear it and how doing so can help you witness to others. After all, that’s the great commission given to children of God!

You can also check out my craft room makeover! I show you how to organize a beautiful craft area with very little money spent, if any at all! This post was also this week’s Designing Devotion edition.

On to the Link Party!

Welcome to Happiness Is Homemade Link Party #391 –
My name is Katie from Love My Messy Messy Mess, and I am SO EXCITED to be your hostess for the month of September!  As a native of the Western New York region, September is one of my favorite months. The leaves start to change, the weather is warm and sunny, but not too hot. It’s generally just a great month as we transition out of summer.

Happy Labor Day to all our US followers! We all hope you have a relaxing weekend with your families and friends!

For more updates on my weekend shenanigans, check me out here on Instagram or Facebook.

This Week’s Features

Now let me start with I NEVER decorate for fall before Labor Day – I like to hang on to summer as long as possible!  But after that first weekend in September, the time has come to break out the pumpkins.  I am always looking online for inspiration, and I think this great post on Neutral Fall Mantel Decor from The House on Silverado is a great resource!

Now that the whole bird gathering ban is over (did you hear about that?), I’ve been putting out bird food to attract all my little friends again.  What a neat idea to create this Birdhouse Gourd Lantern to add a special touch to your outdoor space!

You know I love a festive wreath AND little red trucks, so I had to.  At an affordable price, follow this blog post to make your own DIY Dollar Tree Pumpkin Truck Fall Wreath from Deb’s Buzz.

I am down with anything pumpkin flavored be it coffee, doughnuts, or ice cream!  Try this recipe for Pumpkin Ice Cream from Cincy Shopper – the best part is you don’t even need an ice cream maker for this recipe!

*BONUS FEATURE*

Candle nut typing this right now, and I have ALWAYS wanted to try making my own.  This tutorial for a Homemade Autumn Spice Soy Candle looks like something can handle.  I especially love that it is soy, which means it will burn very clean.

Niki’s Feature

I chose Blue Sky at Home’s post on three quick and easy fall table decor projects. I love the navy pumpkins. I use orange and aqua for early fall, then in November I begin using the darker colors of fall like navy. I absolutely love the copper glasses! I’m going to have to seriously consider using copper in late fall instead of my usual gold! Carol also made a few cute wreaths in navy which I think would sit perfectly in the center of the table with some candles or pumpkins in!
