Traffic Jam Weekend #289

I am so happy that you have joined us this week’s link party Traffic Jam Weekend. I am honored to have been chosen as Tracy’s favorite post from last week. If your child is heading back to school, use the link below and print out the free gift tag and give your child’s teacher a supply gift basket. That’s a great way to start the year off right.

Before we get to this week’s favorites, I’d like to share another back to school project with you. I used an apple shaped sign to made adorable door hangers for my son’s teachers. I added a split letter monogram to each one, and they look amazing! I’m a Southern belle, monograms must be added to everything, ha! This DIY is super easy and super cute. If you have a Cricut, but don’t know how to make a split letter monogram, check out this easy to follow, step-by-step tutorial.

If you don’t have a Cricut, you can still do this project. You can use the carbon copy method. You create a design with the teacher’s name in a Word document, using Canva, Rippl, PicMonkey, or other program that you can type the teacher’s name in a pretty font and print it out. Rub pencil lead all over the back of the paper, then trace over the name on the front, leaving the outline in lead on the sign. Then simply paint it. I will do a tutorial on that soon, so make sure you follow me on social media. Better yet, enter you email in the subscribe section in the sidebar. You will get an email every time a post goes live. You will never get any spam!
