Traffic Jam Weekend #280

Welcome back to Traffic Jam Weekend! Before we get to the features and link party, I’d like to share one of my posts from the last week with you.

I created a Sunday School lesson and craft for you to use in your classes this weekend for Mother’s Day. I was asked to help out and come up with something for the children in 1st to 4th grades at our church to make for their mothers. I’ve created a free printable for you to use (please don’t sell, you’re free to share it with anyone) as part of the lesson. The lesson is based on Galatians chapter 2 and the fruits of the Spirit. There is a poem describing how Christian mothers plant the seeds for the fruits of the Spirit in their child as they grow. Below the poem is a place for the children’s handprint that will become a flower. In the post I describe how to do a demonstration with a flower pot, seeds, and faux flowers. Along with the poem and handprint, you will give each mother a small terracotta pot and packet of flower seeds that mother and child can tend and grow together through the years. If your church has yet to open their Sunday schools or you can’t make it, you can still print the poem and have the child put their handprint below it. Hint, hint, dads, friends, grandparents, etc. I know I love Mother’s Day gifts with my children’s fingerprint, handprint, or footprint so I can look back and remember the years and how they have grown!
